The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile program heals some of the most devastating effects of domestic and sexual violence, by restoring the smiles of adults who have suffered dental injuries from a former intimate partner or spouse, family member or due to sexual assault.
Oral Health America
Oral Health America (OHA) is a national nonprofit which changes lives by connecting communities with resources that drive access to care, increase health literacy and advocate for policies that improve overall health through better oral health for all Americans, especially those most vulnerable. This is accomplished through the Smiles Across America ® and the Wisdom Tooth Project® programs and a variety of seasonal campaigns.
The Smiles For Success (SFS) Foundation was established in 1995 by members of the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD). The SFS Foundation was formed to assist women in transition from welfare to work who cannot afford the cost of dental care. Facing a job interview for them may mean self-consciousness, embarrassment and pain as they attempt to hide decayed, missing and damaged teeth. In early 1996 the pilot program was launched in New York City and programs in Boston, Denver, and Philadelphia were developed in 1998.
